Embroider a Bear with Mal Cleaver
Mal Cleaver is a local creative who works with a wide range of media including knitting, crochet, embroidery, mosaics, macrame and more.
In this workshop, you will learn a variety of embroidery stitches and beading techniques to apply to a handmade bear. You will design and embroider your bear to reflect your tastes. Bears, needles, threads and beads supplied.
Slow stitching can be a mindful and meditative process. It is also a skill that can be incorporated into clothing, upholstery, wall art and much more. Treat yourself to this small group workshop, try something new and take home a bespoke bear to gift or keep.

Watercolours with Bernadette Parsons

Bernadette Parsons is one of New Zealand's foremost watercolourists. For over 20 years she has been inspired by landscapes across New Zealand, including those of her home in Whangamarino. Bernadette's work has won many awards, been published in books and is held in private collections here and in Europe and Australia.
This one day workshop is aimed at beginner and experienced painters. Bernadette feels watercolour is a medium that you work with in a partnership, allowing it a freedom which can never be repeated. "Spontaneity is something I value most in my paintings as this is what will make them special", Bernadette says. Bernadette enjoys the excitement people feel when trying the medium. In this one day workshop you will watch Bernadette demonstrate her technique and experiment yourself, taking home artworks of your own. Cost is $55. All materials are supplied.
