Handbuilt Pottery with David Join David Kenny for a 6 week programme to learn hand built pottery techniques as well as glazes for conventional and raku kilns. The next course starts on Oct 15. $150pp including teaching, 3kg of clay, $10 kiln fees, all necessary tools and a raku kiln night on site. Register at artstekauwhata.org.nz Stone Carving with Kendra Join sculptor Kendra Hanley (www.kendrahanley.com) for a weekend workshop in which you will gain introductory skills for stone carving and create your own midsized Oamaru limestone sculpture to keep. Equipment and materials are supplied but BYO lunch. You will have the opportunity to share your design ideas with Kendra in advance or develop them on the day. Additional stone is available for purchase for those who are inspired to keep creating at home. The workshop is suitable for teens and adults.
