Toi Ako Fundraiser
We couldn't be more excited to host a fundraising performance of our home girl Sandra Pace's first solo show "You're not pretty... but I love you!!"
Many of you know Sandra as part of our teaching team at Toi Ako, but she is also a rapidly rising comedy superstar. It's quite the coup, but we have managed to secure a preview performance of her new show (a world premiere if you will) before it's sold out Auckland (and rapidly selling) Hamilton runs. She's looking for a great local audience and we are fundraising for all the good stuff that Toi Ako does in our community.
"You're not pretty... but I love you!!" came about when Sandra realised that the movie ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’ was a comedy, and not a documentary on her life.
Laugh or cringe as you are introduced to Sandra’s life growing up with a Portuguese mother and the family that comes with this with their own blend of crazy. This show is about living in two cultures, changing relationships, finding yourself and surviving a Mediterranean mother with no filter, only to find out you’re turning into her.
You’re not Pretty,...But I Love You!! is a true quote from Sandra’s mum. If you have a messy family, you are her people, and this is your show.
Tickets are $20. BYO drinks and some spare cash for a raffle or snack. These seats will go quick. Register at [email protected].
