Te Kauwhata Arts Weekend
11 & 12 October 2025

Picture
While we see many talented creatives each week at Toi Ako Artspace, we are aware that there are many more community members making work and enjoying creative practices in their homes, marae, churches and community groups. This weekend is designed to connect all our local creative communities, share and celebrate their collective creativity and provide opportunities for the public to engage with the art, the artists who make it, and their own inner creative selves.

All activity will be held at the community venues at 3 Waerenga Rd - St Margaret's Hall, St Margaret's Church, the Lawn and Toi Ako Artspace. The exhibition is open 10am to 4pm on Sat 11 & Sun 12 October. It will feature many different artforms including illustration, sculpture, painting, weaving, wearable arts, carving, mosaics and much more. Entry to the exhibition, demos and all makers space activity is by koha. There are some workshops that require registrations and a small fee. Please see information below.

Some artworks will be for sale, some will not. Please see the Exhibition Programme on arrival for information on the artists and their works. We also invite you to vote for the Harcourts Te Kauwhata People's Choice Award.. This honour will be awarded at the end of the weekend.

Disability parking is reserved on site. All others please park on the surrounding streets.

$10 Coffee and Cake is available all weekend. Choose a slice from a range of delicious home  made cakes and enjoy a bottomless cup of hot drinks. All proceeds from refreshments go to Toi Ako Artspace so we can continue to bring your more arts experiences and community events.

Thanks to Creative Communities Waikato for their support of this initiative.
